Season Updates
● New Learning Management System that will house all coaching requirements in one place. Link to USAH Learning System. You will need your SSO username which was sent out via email. For any issues getting logged into the system, email Member Services: memberservices@usahockey.org
● New 6U/8U clinic option for coaches who are exclusively coaching 6U or 8U programs. One night only (3.5 hours) and lower cost.
● New USAH Coaching Certification Flow Chart
● New clinic deadline of December 15th. There may be some additional clinics offered after December 15th, but they will be extremely limited.
Follow the steps below to ensure you are eligible to coach:
1. Purchase a 2025-2026 USA Hockey membership and save a copy of your confirmation number (nine digits and five letters).
2. Complete Safe Sport training (required annually). SafeSport training is required every twelve months. If you have completed Safe Sport training within this year, you will not have access to the next course until thirty days before your training expires. When the course becomes available thirty days before, you will receive an email reminder to take the training. Coaches MUST pay close attention to their expiration date for Safe Sport. You will not be allowed to have any interaction with players if you do not have current Safe Sport training.
3. Complete background screening, if needed (required every 2 years). All background checks must be done through USAH’s system.
4. Complete USA Hockey Online Age Modules, if needed. You must have completed the age group module for the team(s) you are coaching (8U, 10U/12U, or 13U+). These modules do not expire, so if you have already done the module in a previous season, you do not need to complete it again. Before completing modules, coaches must now complete the Foundations of Player Development Module.
5. Register for a USA Hockey Coaching Clinic, if needed. *NEW* for 25-26, all clinics must be completed by December 15th. Levels 1, 2, and 3 certifications expire on December 31 of each calendar year.
a. All Level 4 and 5 coaches will need to complete 5 credit hours of continuing education within each subsequent three-year period (by the end of the expiration date of their current level). Coaches who do not complete their required continuing education before the deadline will be redlined on the roster and will be ineligible to coach until they complete the required credits.
